What We Believe

What We Believe

Trinity Presbyterian Church is a Christ centered, reformed congregation. We pursue Biblical, balanced worship with an emphasis on prayer in all we do. Trinity seeks to grow, both as a congregation and as individuals, in witness to the grace of Christ.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is fully inspired by God in all that it teaches and tells us everything that we need to know in order to live a life of faith in God and love for others.

God

We believe that there is One God who exists in Three Persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Though God has the supremacy over all things that he has made, in his love he desires to enter into a personal relationship with us through Jesus Christ.

Jesus

We believe that in a great act of divine love, Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became a human being, lived a perfect life and died a sacrificial death on the cross in order to atone for the penalty of sin for all those who believe in him.

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit, along with the Father and the Son, is God, and was sent to dwell within all believers in order to enable them to enjoy the fullness of all of the blessings of Christ secured for us in salvation.

Salvation

We believe that anyone who comes to God through faith in Jesus Christ is fully forgiven of all of their sins and made fully acceptable to God. This new reconciled relationship with God, which comes only by faith in Jesus, not only removes all of our guilt but also weakens the power of sin in our lives, enabling us to live new lives before God.

People

We believe that all people are created by God and in the image of God and should be treated with dignity, honor, love and respect. The Bible also teaches that no person has lived the life of love for God and for other people that God holds forth in the Bible. Instead, all people are alienated from God and are under his judgment. We are forgiven only when we return to God, in faith, accepting his grace freely given to us in Jesus Christ.

The Future

We believe that God has set a day in the future when Jesus will return, restore God’s Creation to the righteous, peaceful and joy-filled home He originally made it to be, resurrect our bodies in new health and vigor, judge mankind according to their faith and deeds, and dwell among us in his newly restored world.

The Church

We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is for every person of every race on every continent who comes to Jesus in faith. We also believe that Jesus calls all professing Christians, and their children, to commit to a local church of believers, to worship together, to serve together, and to hold forth the love of Christ to the world together.
